you ever had to stop for a second only, to think and reason about complex systems, under which condition the way we live and behave to the world? Those complex systems that no one knows the exact origin and the reasons for which they are accepted and become usual, but from which we all fit and we passively submit.
I speak of numbers (mathematically understood), musical notes, units of measure, alphabet, but also trivia such as lunch time to dinner time, because sleep at night and enjoy the day and not vice versa; elements In short, we built on theories and rules that have, in turn, shaped the minds indicating ways of living and thinking.
And if one day you discover that they are all useless and baseless assumptions?
Who or what gave us, and still give us the absolute certainty of the merits of these systems? It would be a defeat of colossal proportions for an entire race, the human, who has always, in principle, was based on theories unstable, abstract, to create, from their point of view of actual things and concrete.
After Einstein said "everything is relative" (also his theory of relativity could be relative). And my question then is lawful, in short, this is about real conventions, theories of mental constructions, perhaps taken out of laziness and carelessness, perhaps for lack of resources per scoprire la reale sostanza delle cose, forse per la fretta di dare un’immagine chiara e concreta al mondo, forse per dare un senso ed un ordine alla vita stessa!
Provate solo ad immaginare la portata del danno che procurerebbe al mondo, scoprire, per esempio, che il numero 1 (o il numero 0 a seconda dei punti di vista) non è il primo della serie. Un intero impianto teorico crollerebbe e, ad effetto domino, con esso, perderebbero sostanzialità tutti i campi figli della matematica.
A questo punto mi viene da pensare che:
-la razza umana è consapevole di questo rischio e perciò non si azzarda ad indagare oltre;
-la razza umana non è consapevole di ciò e quindi accetta di buon grado di seguire certi schemi;
-anche se consapevole, non esistono mezzi adatti a confutare tali impianti di pensiero perché impensabili, non progettabili;
Conclusione:
quello che per me resta certo è che viviamo seguendo convenzioni, create da qualcuno ed accettate dalla massa, e che esse resteranno tali, quindi relative, fino a che qualcuno non deciderà di spiegarle e/o confutarle offrendo la giusta alternativa. Probabilmente, come dicevo al primo punto della riflessione di cui sopra, una confutazione non avverrà mai o forse, in caso contrario, quel giorno coinciderà con la fine del mondo!
